Moving questions

Carlos Movers FAQ

Practical answers for planning a move in Dallas and Dallas–Fort Worth — estimates, buildings, packing, and what happens after you send the form.

Estimates and scheduling

Getting a number you can plan around.

What should I include in an estimate request?

Your name, phone number, and email are all the form needs. When the coordinator follows up, it helps to have both addresses or cross streets, a rough date, and anything you already know about access — stairs, elevators, gates, parking.

Does submitting the form book my move?

No. The form starts the estimate conversation. Scope, price, crew availability, and your date are all confirmed directly with you before anything is booked.

How far in advance should I reach out?

As soon as your dates are roughly clear. Moves cluster around month-ends and summers, so earlier notice means a better choice of crew windows. The office is open Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM.

What happens after I send the form?

A coordinator contacts you, walks through the details, and confirms the next step — usually a firm scope and a date window you can plan around.

Services

What we can include in one plan.

Which services does Carlos Movers offer?

Local and residential moving, apartment moves, packing and unpacking, office relocations, and interstate moves. Most services can be combined — packing before a local move, for example — under one estimate.

Can I book packing without a full move?

Yes. Packing help can be scoped on its own: full-home packing, selected rooms, fragile-only items, or unpacking at the destination.

Can you move us within the same building?

Yes. Same-building and nearby moves are still local moves — the plan focuses on the freight elevator, hallway widths, and building rules instead of the route.

Do you handle offices and commercial spaces?

Yes. Office moves are sequenced around docks, freight elevators, equipment, and your working hours. Department labeling and a restart order keep the business side running.

Buildings and access

The details that decide how the day goes.

Who reserves the service elevator?

Buildings usually want the resident or tenant to request the reservation, and we help you get it right: which elevator, which window, how long it can be held. Share what your building requires and we will plan the day around it.

What if my building needs a certificate of insurance?

Tell us during the estimate conversation. The paperwork is standard for DFW apartment and condo buildings, and we plan for it before move day, not at the front desk.

What about parking restrictions and permits?

Mention what you know — street signs, permit zones, garage clearances, loading docks. Where restrictions exist, we plan the legal truck position and the carry route before the crew arrives.

Should I share gate codes in the form?

Please do not send codes or alarm details through the form. Describe the access situation instead — the coordinator will collect what is needed during follow-up.

Moving day

How the day actually runs.

When does the crew arrive?

You get an arrival window during the estimate conversation, and the coordinator confirms it the day before. Crews stage out of North Dallas, so timing is planned around your addresses and any building windows.

What should I have ready before the crew arrives?

Packed and labeled boxes if you are packing yourself, cleared walkways, and a short priority list — what comes off first at the new place. Keep documents, medication, and valuables with you.

Is there anything you will not move?

Standard industry limits apply: hazardous materials such as fuel, propane, and paint cannot ride on the truck. Mention anything unusual during follow-up and we will tell you straight.

How do I report a change before move day?

Call or reply to your coordinator as soon as something shifts — an address change, new furniture, a new building rule. Small changes are easy to re-plan early and expensive to discover at the curb.

belongings and two cars-in addition to 3 canceled flights and 14 day mandatory quarantine once we arrived to Texas. The coordinator kept us informed during the process. When we found out our first flight was cancelled and we would not be able to fly for at least another 3 weeks, they held our shipment for us and kept us updated on when things would arrive so we could plan accordingly. Our things arrived safely and I am thankful for the amazing service we had during these crazy times.

overcharged. It should not have taken 3 people 7.5 hours to pack and move a one bedroom apartment 3 miles. As a retired military wife I have been part of many moves including helping pack for a long-distance move (I was offered a job with the moving company). I think that one of the reasons it took so long was the excessive use of packing materials. It is completely unnecessary and environmentally irresponsible to wrap and tape many of the items individually especially for such a short move.
